Meet Joe Dickman

As the founder and head of Vizuri, Joe is responsible for its overall strategic direction. Through a hands-on approach, he offers customers more than thirty years of experience as a technical architect, developer, and business leader.

Joe specializes in helping executives to solve complex business problems by mapping their business processes and adopting new technologies when appropriate. He frequently speaks at industry events and contributes his perspective to news outlets and research firms such as Forrester. He proudly works with visionary leaders in multiple industries to help them understand how to improve their business agility. Through this experience, he has become a prominent speaker on open-source technologies, and he has helped to shape industry practices in business rules.

A native of New Jersey, Joe began his career designing and writing software for intermodal transportation systems. He moved to Virginia in 1986 to design, architect, and develop commercial products for VM Software and Sterling Software.

As a consultant, Joe eventually led the digital division of Noblestar Systems, where he managed a team of more than 150 consultants that delivered solutions for clients such as Johnson & Johnson, Ameritrade, Sovereign Bank, and AON Insurance. In 2002, Joe founded Vizuri as the commercial division of AEM Corporation. Since that time, Vizuri has become a globally recognized solutions organization within the open-source community.

Joe has a passion for the water and spends most of his free time with his family swimming, paddleboarding, and boating. He is an avid scuba diver and can be found traveling to exotic dive locations in search of large marine life.
